Bartender Jill Boram, 27, was just leaving work at the Dogwatch Tavern when 38-year-old Orlando Redd plowed into her with a van while desperately attempting to escape men who looked to be intending him harm.

"You see that chaotic scene play out and you just hold your breath," said police spokesman TJ Smith. "We're fortunate that we're not talking about a much larger tragedy as a result of these reckless acts.”

Boram is in the hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, including broken ribs and skull fractures. Though, according to a statement made by Boram’s mother on a GoFundMe page, the injuries are life-altering and Boram has a long road of surgeries and recovery.

The GoFundMe page has reached $46,255 since this writing, nearly meeting it’s $50,000 goal in just one day with some of the larger donations from local businesses.

Along with their donations they wrote:

“The Baltimore Water Taxi supports Jill on her road to recovery. We encourage others to please do the same.”

“On behalf of the staffs from Abbey Burger and Smaltimore, please let us know if there is anything else we can do.”

“Wishing you a speedy recovery from Canton! Sending lots of love and well wishes from the owners, staff and regulars at The Chasseur and the Pig & Rooster Smokehouse!”

Below you’ll see the cell phone video that captured the terrible video:
