The Purdue University staff member who allegedly threatened to rape pro-life women and the family members of pro-life activists has “quit” his position after claiming he deserves an apology.

MRCTV previously reported the Purdue University Police Department was investigating the rape threats allegedly made by Purdue staff member Jamie Newman.

The Purdue Police later cleared Newman of “any criminal intent.” The university also stated the incident “didn’t warrant personnel action.”

However, shortly after, the university told Newman to issue an apology. Newman responded by claiming he deserves an apology from the university and that the school should beg for his forgiveness:

If anything, you owe me an apology -- indeed, you should probably be begging my forgiveness -- for facilitating the dissemination of fabricated and defamatory statements about me, and for failing to vehemently denounce the effort made of Students For Life to destroy my life and career.  I'm not planning to hold my breath waiting for one.

Following the demand for an apology, Newman told Journal and Courier Online, “Yeah, I just quit.” He instructed J&C to “Tell the world.”

Purdue confirmed to J&C that Newman issued his resignation.

A Purdue spokeswoman told J&C, “The university has accepted the resignation and believes this is the appropriate outcome.”
