Senior White House adviser Valerie Jarrett gave a politically-charged speech attacking Republicans from the pulpit at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia on the Sunday before the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
“Teachers, and firefighters, and policemen, whose jobs are now in jeopardy because Congress — well let me be specific — because the Republicans in Congress,” Jarret said as she elicited laughter and applause from the crowd.
Jarret then discussed Osama bin Laden and the end to the Iraq war saying, “We all sleep a little better at night knowing Osama Bin Laden and his lieutenants are not plotting a terrorist attack against the United States.”
At the end of Sunday's sermon the church held a voter registration drive.
