41% of Likely Republican Primary Voting Women Support Trump

Donald Trump is the top presidential candidate among Republican women, holding a 25 percentage point lead over his rival, Texas Sen. Ted. Cruz, when it comes women.

YouGov’s survey of 552 likely Republican primary voters found that Donald Trump is the top Republican choice for president, with 36 percent of likely Republican primary voters responding they would most like to see Trump as the Republican nominee.

Trump is also the top choice among women, with 41 percent of Republican women naming Trump as the candidate they would like most to see as the Republican nominee.

In fact, more women cite Trump as their top choice for the Republican nominee than men (41 percent compared to 32 percent).

Cruz is the second most popular choice to be the Republican nominee, with 20 percent responding they would like to see him win the nomination.

Among all likely Republican voters, Trump leads Cruz by 16 percentage points.

Only 16 percent of women say Cruz is their top pick for the Republican nomination. Trump leads Cruz when it comes to women by 25 percentage points.

The YouGov poll was conducted by interviewing 552 American adults between Jan. 9-11 through Web-based interviews. The margin of error is ±4.6 percent.
