Abortion-Pusher Emanuel Apologizes For Flagrant Falsehood On COVID Threat To Kids

Leftist media appear to be as eager to cover for Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, infamous brother of equally infamous Biden Ambassador to Japan (and former Chicago Mayor, Clinton friend/campaign mastermind, Obama White House Chief of Staff) Rahm, as Dr. Zeke is to cover for himself.

Last Wednesday, Zeke Emanuel – who reportedly was in contention to be Biden’s nominee for director of the not-in-the-Constitution Food and Drug Administration (FDA) – spouted on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports” (the latter term in the title being highly debatable) that if kids between the ages of 2 and 5 didn’t get a gene-based mRNA injection, they were in danger of contracting the virus and getting a “serious condition of Omicron.”

With the omicron variant, kids are either going to get the vaccine or they’re likely to get a serious condition of omicron.

Unlike the staff on Mitchell’s show, people with memories and who aren’t lapdogs for collectivist idiocy quickly called the great Doctor Emanuel to task.

Reason Editor-at-Large Matt Welch Tweeted the fearmongering clip of Zeke that MSNBC released, and added:

This statement is not remotely true.

Indeed, it’s so far from truth as to make one wonder why any TV host would allow the man to get away with it.

FoxNews’ Brandon Gillespie wrote:

Data, however, suggests that it's highly unlikely children would contract a serious case of the virus. According to Reuters, one study showed that children were actually getting less sick from omicron than other variants. Children have also been far less likely to get severely ill from COVID-19 throughout the pandemic than older age groups.

And:

Another recent study cited by economist Emily Oster also reiterated the extremely low risk young children face of severe COVID-19 outcomes. ‘What we can say is that based on everything we know, the risks to small children from COVID-19 are extremely small,’ she wrote.

And as the ACTUAL truth tsunami hit, both MSNBC and Emanuel attempted to cover their tracks and deflect.

The network removed the Tweeted clip, and both MSNBC and Zeke took to Twitter to claim that the former Biden COVID Response Team member simply, “misspoke.”

MSNBC claimed:

Editor’s note: A post that quoted Dr. Zeke Emanuel discussing the omicron variant and children has been removed after it was discovered to include a misstatement.

Yeah. Misstatement. Not a falsehood. Not a baseless, groundless example of fearmongering…

Said Emanuel, being sure you know he was “on live TV,” as if that makes fabrications somehow easier to justify:

I misspoke on live TV. Unvaxxed kids aren't likely to get a ‘serious condition’ of Omicron, but they're more likely to contract a case of Omicron. To be clear: parents should protect their kids against COVID-19 and get them vaccinated.

So, not only does the man try to massage away what was an obviously false statement, not only does he try to claim that a clearly emphatic, unambiguous statement was “misspeaking,” he reemphasizes the baseless exhortation that parents should get their kids “vaccinated,” that the so-called “vaccine” will protect the kids (where is his long-term data?) and that the kids are somehow in relatively greater danger of serious illness if they go without. Everything he said was questionable, especially his bluff that he “misspoke.”

To the contrary, his fear-grenade on MSNBC appears to have been anything but a fumble or use of the incorrect word.

But what else is new from this supposed “medical ethicist” whose brand of “ethics” embraces nearly all of the backwards, inverted, anti-life precepts of collectivism?

This is, after all, the man who helped inject the “Best Practices Panel” into Obamacare, a panel that will ration health care and which will decide who gets life-saving services and who does not.

This is the man who has, for many years, pushed the notion that it’s best for people not to outlive their government welcome, best, as he argued in 2014, to die by 75.

Just be sure not to label as “Death Panel” what this pro-death guy put into Obamacare, because that, ahh, yes, THAT, would be “misspeaking.”

As Wesley Smith writes for LifeNews:

Emanuel called for vaccine mandates long before vaccine diktats were cool. In 2018, Emanuel demanded that every child in America to be forced to receive a flu shot every year. What was the urgent need for such a forceful policy? There wasn’t one. According to the CDC, the deadliest recent flu season only cost the lives of 186 children, tragic, but hardly a cause for panic.

And as the COVID19 fearmongering exploded:

(L)ast April, he co-authored a piece in the New York Times stating: “Vaccines should be required for health care workers and for all students who plan to attend in-person classes this fall—including younger children once the vaccine is authorized for them by the Food and Drug Administration. Employers should also be prepared to make vaccines mandatory for prison guards, E.M.T.s, police officers, firefighters and teachers.’

He also pushed unconstitutional and immoral lockdowns, otherwise known as government threats against people who want to peacefully associate and be left alone:

Back in the Spring of 2020, when the country was going off the economic cliff, Emanuel, urged that the economy be kept shuttered for 18-months—the time he wrongly suggested it would take to develop a vaccine (not a great look for a potential head of the FDA). He said in an interview that there could be no return to ‘the kind of normal where we go traveling, we go to restaurants, we go to concerts, we go to religious services, we go on cruises, until we have a vaccine that protects everyone.’

And on the subject of abortion, not only does this man who “cares” so much about kids NOT understand that fetuses are living human beings, he seems eager to FORCE doctors to perform abortions as a condition of being allowed by the state to actually practice medicine.

In keeping with his authoritarian tendencies, Emanuel co-authored a piece in the New England Journal of Medicine arguing that doctors should be required to perform any legal procedure for which a patient asked, so long as it is not controversial within the medical establishment—even if it violates the doctor’s religious beliefs.

Emanuel explicitly included abortion in that toxic-to-freedom prescription, writing that if doctors wish to refuse, they have ‘two choices: select an area of medicine, such as radiology, that will not put them in situations that conflict with their personal morality or, if there is no such area, leave the profession.”

But, perhaps those all were “misstatements” as well.

Surely, he can squirm out of virtually anything, and the pop media will let him do it.
