I guess for leftist activists masquerading as mayors of large cities if at first you don’t succeed in proving you’re a giant hypocrite, try, try again.

Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser once again asked for the National Guard’s help on Thursday in dealing with the increase of illegal immigrants in her city, despite not only being rejected once before by the Department of Defense, but also to the chagrin of White House officials trying to downplay the border crisis.

According to a letter Bowser penned to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin on Thursday:

The District of Columbia writes to provide additional information to support our July 19 request to deploy the DC National Guard (DCNG) to help prevent a prolonged humanitarian crisis in our nation’s capital resulting from the daily arrival of migrants in need of assistance. This renewed request addresses the concerns expressed in the Executive Secretariat’s August 4, 2022, response to my letter of July 19, 2022.[…]

Ultimately, and once again, our hope is that the DCNG can aid in strengthening local efforts beginning August 22 and extending for the next 90 days.  We need help from our federal partners as we seek to stabilize and manage our operating environment in this critical moment.

Earlier in August, Fox News reported that the White House said it had “constructive conversations” with Bowser for her “humanitarian crisis” characterization of the influx of illegal immigrants into D.C. White House officials were also reportedly “frustrated with her comments.”

As a side note, Bowser also wrote in the letter that she and other D.C. officials encouraged “the federal government” and “the White House” to “help asylum seekers in ways similar to systems set up for Afghan and Ukrainian refugees.”

As if U.S. politicians haven’t transferred enough of taxpayers’ wealth to foreign countries and people not legally in the Unites States.
