Azealia Banks Suspended from Twitter for Attacking Zayn Malik

Outspoken controversial rapper Azealia Banks was suspended from Twitter on Thursday following an allegedly racist and homophobic rant targeted at Zayn Malik, formerly of the band One Direction.

According to the New York Daily News, Banks’ attacks on Malik included calling the Pakistani singer a “token sand n---a” and a “f---t.”

Banks’ Twitter suspension comes after MRCTV first reported Banks tweeted that Sarah Palin should be gang-raped. Twitter ultimately determined attacking Palin does not violate Twitter’s rules, but, apparently, attacking a pop superstar does.

The New York Daily News also reports Banks’ tweets about Malik got her removed from the line-up at the Rinse FM’s Born & Bred Festival.

Banks issued an apology to those who were offended by her comments, but maintained she is “not sorry” she said them.

In order to celebrate Banks being removed from Twitter, the hashtag “#AzealiaGotSuspendedParty” has been trending on Twitter with over 17,600 tweets.
