A federal judge in Florida has just ruled that bans on transgender treatment - which protects kids from medically unnecessary procedures like chemical castrations and physical mutilation - for minors is unconstitutional.
Several families, along with a few LGBT groups, sued the state of Florida, saying the state’s ban on physically altering children to affirm their gender delusions denies parents the right to make medical decisions for their children. While the law prevents doctors from mutilating the bodies of children with puberty blockers or sex-change hormones, liberal judge Robert Hinkle struck down the rule, declaring that “gender identity is real.”
The ruling, naturally, was viewed by the left as a massive victory.

According to CNN, “Simone Chriss, transgender rights initiative director at the nonprofit Southern Legal Counsel law firm, called the move ‘a victory for the state of Florida’ in a statement,” adding, “Today’s ruling blocks the state of Florida’s cruel campaign to deny fundamental rights and basic healthcare to its transgender citizens.”
However, Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis said he already plans to appeal this decision.
“We disagree with the court’s erroneous rulings on the law, on the facts, and on the science,” DeSantis’ Press Secretary Julia Friedland said. “As we’ve seen here in Florida, the United Kingdom, and across Europe, there is no quality evidence to support the chemical and physical mutilation of children. These procedures do permanent, life-altering damage to children, and history will look back on this fad in horror.”
According to the Daily Wire, “Last week, more than 100 health care professionals and groups signed onto a declaration calling on major medical organizations to halt dangerous transgender medical interventions for children,” since it is scientifically proven that these procedures are extremely dangerous and psychologically damaging.
