If James Comey was planning to send Joe Biden a Christmas card this year, he might want to rethink it and save on the postage.

The former FBI director, who went on a much-publicized anti-Trump crusade after the president fired him back in 2017, tweeted his support for Biden after Comey’s first pick, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, dropped out of the race earlier this week. And Biden’s camp…

…totally rejected it.

“Voted in first Dem primary to support party dedicated to restoring values in WH. I agree with @amyklobuchar: We need candidate who cares about all Americans and will restore decency, dignity to the office. There is a reason Trump fears @joebiden and roots for Bernie. #Biden2020,” Comey, who was a longtime registered Republican until switching to "unaffiliated" back in 2016, tweeted Tuesday.

To which Andrew Bates, director of Rapid Response for the Biden campaign, mockingly responded: “Yes, customer service? I just received a package that I very much did not order. How can I return it, free of charge?”

Comey

Of course, many commenters, the large majority of them liberals themselves, blasted Bates for rejecting Comey’s endorsement, calling it “unnecessary” and childish to reject support from an anti-Trumper.

On the other hand, it’s also hilarious. Perhaps if Comey had put it in an email and sent it from a private server...?
