Biden Will Invite the Buccaneers to the White House...When It's 'COVID Safe'

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won the Super Bowl, and the winning team usually gets invited to the White House. But this year, it looks like the coach and players might have to wait a while for their invitations.

When asked during Monday's press briefing if President Joe Biden was inviting the Buccaneers to the White House, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki responded, "Very exciting, the outcome of the Super Bowl, I guess, if you're a fan of the Buccaneers. But we will be inviting – I don't have an update if it's happened yet – but I do have an update that we look forward to inviting the Buccaneers, as well as the 2020 NBA champions, the Lakers, to the White House when it is COVID safe. But I don't know when that will take place yet."

Given her opening sentence, it would seem that Psaki was either rooting for the Chiefs to win or is simply not interested in football.

But seriously, when is the White House going to be “COVID safe?” Psaki couldn't say. How long will the visit be delayed? Just a few days so that the janitorial staff can disinfect the place? Or for an indefinite amount of time until humans build up immunity and the death rates decrease? Who knows how long that would take?

More importantly, why is Biden, who is definitely in the high-risk category, even in the White House at all if it isn’t “COVID safe?” Has he been walking around in a hazmat suit?

Apparently, the Biden administration now thinks that masks and social distancing aren’t enough. No doubt the president will soon issue an executive order for buildings to be made “COVID safe” before people can enter them.
