Apparently, screaming "ultra-MAGA" into a microphone isn't the game-winning shot President Joe Biden thought it would be.

Despite his best efforts to paint conservatives as the most radical political movement this side of the Third Reich, the president's approval rating continues to plummet amid rising inflation, skyrocketing gas and grocery prices, and a shocking baby formula shortage that’s left millions of people all across the country scrambling for food to feed their babies - all issues that are hitting Americans' directly in the wallet.

According to the latest NBC poll, Biden’s approval rating now stands at a paltry 39%, with 56% saying they disapprove of how he’s doing his job.

That’s down 3 percentage points from the 42% approval rating he had in early May.

When broken down by individual issues, the story gets even worse for Biden.

According to the poll, the president polls highest in his handling of the coronavirus pandemic, with 56% of respondents saying they think he’s done a good job. But COVID is unlikely to be a major factor heading into the November mid-terms, as only about 3 percent of likely voters said the pandemic was their top concern, according to one recent poll from Statista.

Conversely, 22 percent said that dissatisfaction with the government and its poor handling of problems was their top issue, with 17% saying inflation and the rising cost of goods and services was No. 1 on their list.

And in those categories, Biden fails among most Americans. The Hill reports:

But only 33 percent of Americans approve of his handling of the economy, and only 23 percent approve of his handling of inflation and the cost of living, two issues that are likely to be among the most important at the ballot box in November.

The poll also found fewer than half of Americans (41%, to be precise) said they’re “somewhat satisfied” with their financial situation, with 16% reporting that they’re “very dissatisfied.”

The poll also found that the cost of living and the economy outranked both voting rights and abortion – two of Democrats’ top talking points – as Americans’ overall top concerns.
