Bill Maher is one of the few liberals who is not so liberal that he’s lost all ability to be logical. He proved that once again with his take on gun control following the shooting at the Covenant School in Nashville, TN.

Speaking with Virginia Lt.-Gov. Winsome Sears on his show “Real Time with Bill Maher,” the host made the point that although guns can be used for evil purposes, they are a necessary tool to have for a variety of good purposes.

“Guns are a leveler. You know, if you don’t have guns, then the person who is physically stronger is always going to win,” Maher said. “I mean, I do not like guns. I have them, I do not like them. It’s like, I always compare them to antibiotics. I do not want to take one, but I’m glad they exist because I’m as small as some women,” Maher told his viewers.

A little logic and humor all in one take … by a liberal? Maybe there is some normalcy in the world.

All jokes aside, Maher is right. There is a tendency on the modern left to want to outlaw what they don't like, regardless of the constitution and the consequences. Disarming the law abiding is both unconstitutional and counter-productive.

If even half the liberals in the country had the level of common sense Maher occasionally shows, our country would be in far less turmoil.
