I’m not sure where to begin on this one – except to say that it happened in New York City. Which, to be honest, probably tells you nearly everything you need to know.

Bizarre cell phone footage off the city’s subway shows a group of women clad head-to-toe in lime green spandex bodysuits assaulting and robbing people as onlookers sit and do nothing. And, lest you not believe me, here you go:

(To be clear, when we say crime in New York is out of this world, we don't usually mean actual aliens.)

The attack apparently happened near Times Square around 2 a.m. Sunday, after two 19-year-old women said they got into a verbal altercation with the Green Girl Group. The spat turned into a physical fight and ended with the bodysuit brigade stealing the two women’s phones, credit cards, and wallets, among other personal effects. According to the cell phone video, bystanders who watched the incident didn't try to intervene.

The attack has so far stymied the cops due to the fact that all the women also had their faces covered.

The head-scratching incident comes just a few days after a Maryland tourist was beaten, slashed in the face, and robbed while standing on a street corner in Times Square around 4:30 a.m.

The moral of the story? If you’re in New York and it’s after midnight, maybe just stay home.
