The countdown clock on climate change is moving very quickly for Democrats. Sen. Cory Booker told an audience “we only have 10 years to deal with it” on Wednesday.

Booker’s claim follows the January doomsday prediction by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez that the “world is gonna end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change.”

At a “She the People” event in Texas Wednesday, Booker told the audience that if he was President he would “do what’s necessary for environmental justice” and deal with “the urgencies of climate change.”

“By making sure we rejoin the Paris Climate Accords, re-up our commitment to clean energy standards and make sure we are dealing aggressively with a bold, green future,” Booker said. “And finally, let me just say, with climate change we have 10 years to deal with it.”

Booker says the US will have to be involved with developing countries in order to ensure they are towing the line on climate change as well.

“Unless we are starting to get involved in developing nations and give them the assistance and support to make sure they are dealing with climate change too, we will not be successful," Booker said.
