It seems that about half of Joe Biden’s followers on Twitter are fake. The other half....well that's another story.
Newsweek reports Software company SparkToro determined that 49.3% of the 22.2 million accounts that follow @POTUS, are not real.
According to Newsweek:
SparkToro defines fake followers as "accounts that are unreachable and will not see the account's tweets (either because they're spam, bots, propaganda, etc. or because they're no longer active on Twitter)."
Entrepreneur Elon Musk has expressed concerns about the number of fake accounts on Twitter. He has put his purchase of Twitter on hold until issues involving fake accounts can be accounted for or resolved. A possible crack down on bots on Twitter could see Biden losing millions of followers.
