A mother in Britain is suing a hospital due to what she says is their failure to tell her that her son had down-syndrome according to Fox News

Reading into the story should enrage any individual who values life. In the suit, the birth is deemed a “wrongful birth” and the sole decision to end this child's life would have been simply due to him being diagnosed with down syndrome. The parents are trying to force the hospital to pay them $250,000 because they are raising their son. Fox News said the mother was recorded as "very upset and angry" after the birth of her son.

From the Daily Mail, the mother, "Edyta Mordel, 33, insists she asked for the checks to be carried out during her pregnancy and was devastated when her baby son was diagnosed with the condition after his birth."

The lawyer for Mordel put the modern day eugenics in the perfect frame. “Miss Mordel would have been offered an abortion and she and her partner, Aleksander’s father Lukasz Cieciura, agreed they would have terminated the pregnancy.”

If she'd known prior to the birth of her son that he had down syndrome, he would be dead now.
