Pro tip: when you’re introducing a former war hostage during a speech, it’s best to make sure the hostage is in fact, you know, former.

In yet another Biden blunder, the president called out an Israeli-American hostage for being in the audience during a speech at a White House Jewish heritage celebration. There was just one little problem: the guy Biden called out is still being held by Hamas terrorists.

“My administration is working around the clock to free the remaining hostages, just as we have freed hostages already. And here with us today is Hersh Goldberg-Polin,” Biden said.

A moment later - and likely at the instruction of his handlers - the president corrected himself, saying, “He is not here with us. But he is still being held by Hamas.”

Goldberg-Polin, a 23-year-old dual Israeli citizen, is one of five American citizens known to still be held by Hamas terrorists after being kidnapped from Israel during the massacre on October 7. It’s also known his hand was cut off after being captured, and he has sustained other injuries during the ordeal.

Which, if you were a president who truly cared about U.S. citizens being held hostage by terrorists and were on top of the effort to bring them home safely, you'd probably already know.

But we don't have one of those. We have Joe Biden.
