Update: For what it’s worth, the White House has since claimed in a statement issued to Mediaite (who tried to call us out for fake news, since it’s apparently unacceptable once again to even ask questions about Biden’s mental acuity, and who also incorrectly claimed I worked for NewsBusters - they have since corrected that error) that Biden “wanted to personally thank the flight crew who brought these brave individuals home to their families,” which is why he boarded the plane.

Original story: So is anyone gonna ask questions about this? Or is it just another “cheap fake” we’re supposed to ignore?
Because I have all the questions.
Fresh off of welcoming home Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich and American veteran Paul Whelan, two American citizens who’d been held in a Russian prison, on Thursday night following a multi-national prisoner exchange, President Joe Biden appeared to wander on to the plane the former detainees had just gotten off of, leaving some people wondering if the 81-year-old thought he was getting on Air Force One.

Also among the freed prisoners were American citizen Alsu Kurmasheva, and green-card holder Vladimir Kara-Murza. As part of the 24-prisoner, multi-country deal, the United States agreed to release eight Russian prisoners being held in prisons across the U.S., Norway, Germany, Slovenia, and Poland, all of whom had been arrested for espionage or fraud.
Of course, Biden and Harris were there when the Americans arrived, fresh-faced for the photo op. But that's about when things took a turn for the weird, when Biden began climbing the steps to the now-empty plane the prisoners had already vacated.
After Biden boarded the plane, Vice President Kamala Harris and their entourage seemed to simple stare at the jet awkwardly, until Biden finally popped back out, froze for a moment, and then descended the steps.
Which, to be fair, he managed not to fall down.

Now look, I have no particular insight as to why Biden hopped on this plane. There could be a reasonable explanation - maybe he was taking a bathroom break. Maybe he was saying hi to the pilots, or grabbing the latest issue of SkyMall.
But you have to admit, it was kinda....weird. And after what we’ve seen over the last…I don’t know, five years? You can’t exactly blame me for asking.
