A fourth school has forfeited its upcoming game against a girls’ team sporting a trans player in its lineup, all to avoid pitting girls against a biological boy.
Utah State University has followed the University of Wyoming in declining to play San Jose State, which features a boy in its starting lineup.
“Utah State University will not participate in its scheduled October 23, 2024, volleyball match at San Jose State University. The University will abide by Mountain West Conference policy regarding how this match is recorded,” Utah State said in a statement on its website.
Led by male player Blaire (formerly Brayden) Fleming, San Jose State has yet to lose a match this season, with a 11-0 record after counting the Utah State University’s forfeit.
The University of Wyoming’s girls’ volleyball team forfeited their upcoming game against them in an announcement earlier this week.
Both Boise State & Southern Utah have also refused to play against San Jose, forfeiting their games and accepting a loss on their records in protest of the unfairness and out of concern for the safety of their players.

San Jose State called the University of Wyoming's forfeit "disappointing."
"It is disappointing that our SJSU student athletes, who are in full compliance with NCAA and Mountain West rules and regulations, are being denied opportunities to compete," the school told OutKick in an email, adding, "We are committed to supporting our student-athletes through these challenges and in their ability to compete in an inclusive, fair, safe and respectful environment."
Well, maybe if you didn't have a dude pumped full of testosterone spiking volleyballs into women's faces, you could find somebody willing to play against you.
