Comedian Jim Gaffigan took a moment during his speech at the 81st annual Golden Globe awards Sunday night to joke about the rampant pedophilia in Hollywood - to the uproarious laughter of his celebrity audience, of course.
Even as the names on Jeffrey Epstein’s infamous list of buddies, pals, and potential fellow child abusers are still rolling out in slow waves, Gaffigan poked fun at Tinseltown’s culture of child abuse, saying he’s not sure how he’s even a celebrity given his hometown and lack of sexual attraction to kids.
“I can’t even believe I’m in the entertainment industry. It’s so unlikely. I’m from a small town in Indiana, I’m not a pedophile,” Gaffigan quipped before introducing Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television.
And har har har went the audience.

Whether Gaffigan meant to make light of Hollywood’s history of child sex abuse or whether he was blatantly calling out his celeb buddies for diddling kids, the joke was just a little too on-the-nose for comfort - unless, apparently, you’re a famous actor who finds it funny that the world turns a blind eye to pedophilia and those rich and well-connected enough to get away with it.
Then it’s just laughs a’plenty.
