The gaslighting efforts are running at full speed from the disingenuous hacks who actually want you to believe that men competing in women’s sports doesn’t put female athletes at any disadvantage - or, even more concerning, physical risk.
Enter John Oliver, a late night “comedy” host whose lack of funniness is made up for by his copious amounts of idiocy. In an impassioned tirade Sunday night, Oliver claimed that there is no real evidence that teenage boys are at an athletic advantage over girls even after going through puberty.
“We expect a certain amount of difference in athletics. Taller basketball players are expected to compete against shorter ones, faster soccer players compete against slower ones. Michael Phelps was allowed to compete with other swimmers despite being part-dolphin,” Oliver joked, attempting to say that biological men with physical differences is the same as pitting a testosterone-fueled dude with naturally greater muscle mass against a woman who scientifically can’t come within spitting distance of his physiological makeup.
“None of the studies I’m mentioned so far bear much relevance to what these new laws target, which is youth sports, usually of all ages. And the research there is even more scant. We have no research about how trans or undergoing gender-affirming treatment impacts athletic performance.”
HBO’s John Oliver spent his entire show last night arguing that men who claim to be women don’t have a competitive advantage in sports. I honestly can’t believe this is a hill left wingers are dying on: pic.twitter.com/gznBXSoQxB

Because we don’t need it, you rectally-lodged buffoon.
We already know, based on long-understood scientific data, that boys experience a significant increase in lean muscle mass and decrease in body fat during puberty, primarily driven by the surge in testosterone. This growth leads to greater strength and height that is far beyond the average growth of girls. In fact, girls who experience normal puberty don’t get these benefits, and instead usually see an increase in fat due to an increase in estrogen. And unlike men, who tend to gain physical advantages thanks to puberty, the estrogen boost in women actually leads to ligament laxity and looser tendons, increasing the risk of physical injury.
The University of Texas Medical Branch estimates that while both boys and girls start puberty at about 80% lean body mass, females drop to 70-75% lean body mass and males increase to 90% during puberty, which can begin as early as 8 or 9 years old. When it comes to height, UTMB reports while both boys and girls experience growth during puberty, the final height of males is about 5 inches greater than females.
All of which leads to a significant advantage in just about every athletic competition imaginable. It's also why there's not a prevalence of gender-confused varsity girls dominating boys' sports, but there's a new story about some crossdressing dude running laps around the ladies just about every other day.
We don’t need to do 176 more studies to determine if post-pubescent teenage boys are at a physical advantage over girls. We already know. And to pretend this is some unsolved mystery is not only ridiculous, it’s intentionally obtuse.
Leftists know this - they just don't like it. So they tell you not to believe your lyin' eyes. Or, you know, those pesky little things called facts.
