A couple of aging climate nuts with nothing better to do with their time just desecrated the grave of Charles Darwin in the name of “stopping oil.”
Because, as we all know, spray painting the tombstone of a dead dude makes a great impact, and is a surefire way of convincing other folks to join your cause.
At least, so believed these two nuts, who were filmed painting the words “is dead” on Darwin’s marker in Westminster Abbey. The pair identified themselves as being members of the climate alarmist group Just Stop Oil, whose members have filmed themselves throwing everything from paint to soup and mashed potatoes on priceless art, statues, and even an irreplaceable dinosaur fossil.
Police showed up to the scene around 9:30 a.m., where the two elderly women had parked themselves to bask in their 15-seconds of fam - or, as the rest of us see it, embarrassment - to wait for the cops. Alyson Lee, 66, and Di Bligh, 77, were both were taken into custody, and the museum said they’d be taking “immediate action” to clean off the paint.

Hilariously, Bligh said in a statement that Darwin, whose grave she and her friend just vandalized, would have supported their cause.

"We've done it on Darwin's grave specifically because he would be turning in that grave because of the sixth mass extinction taking place now,” Bligh claimed.
“I believe he would approve because he was a good scientist and he would be following the science, and he would be as upset as us with the government for ignoring the science,” Lee added.
The pair noted that they used chalk paint - one of the few types of paint not made from petroleum - for their little art project. Which might be commendable - if their clothing, watches, glasses, and backpacks weren't all manufactured using fossil fuels.
