Lizzo has a message for America: If Kamala Harris is elected president, the whole country will look like a cesspool of crime, failed policies, crumbling infrastructure, and a dumpster fire of an education system.
Her words, not mine.
Actually, the somehow-a-Grammy-winning singer's exact words during the Harris campaign event were, “If Kamala wins, then the whole country will be like Detroit.” Which…isn’t exactly a good thing.

I'm from South Africa, (one of the highest crime rates in the world) & I've never been robbed on tour. I was in Detroit last year & our tour van was robbed TWICE in one night 🤣pic.twitter.com/j8CXJgbrPk
In Detroit, just shy of 24% of all residents - including 43% of all children - live below the poverty line. Only about half of all working-age Americans in Detroit have a job.
Only one in 10 public school students in the Detroit Public Schools Community District are proficient in math, and only 13.5% read at grade level.
The energy grid is struggling under environmental mismanagement, often leaving residents without electricity or refrigeration. The city’s infrastructure is literally falling apart thanks to years of aging and neglec- sorry, “climate change.”
Detroit also boasts a high crime rate of 66 incidents per 1,000 residents, making it one of the most crime-ridden cities in America. In fact, according to Metro Times, Detroit ranked as the second least-safe city in the country. The city saw 252 homicides last year alone, a number city officials are actually quite proud of because it’s below the 300-plus annual homicides seen in 2017.
I'm not sure that's the stellar record you wanna brag about, or the future you should expect people to cheer for.
