On top of putting kids at risk for human trafficking and forced child labor, overwhelming community welfare programs, and spurring a massive increase in violent crime an gang activity, the Biden/Harris administration's open border policies are now having a devastating impact on schools that say they aren't at all prepared for the wave of illiterate migrant children they've just had plopped in their underfunded laps.
The Boston Herald reports local school districts in Massachusetts have been “blindsided” by the sheer number of illegal alien children that have been dumped into their buildings at the start of the 2024-25 academic year.
The Herald reports:
Norfolk officials on Monday reported that 20 children staying at the former prison in town, which was recently renovated to house migrant families, might be enrolling in the Norfolk Public Schools and King Philip Regional School District.
The Norfolk town administrator and the two local superintendents wrote in a letter to local residents that they “recognize and understand that this unexpected change in policy regarding enrollment may cause frustration, anger, and concern across the community,” saying they are “working diligently to address the situation and want to stress that the education of all students is the top priority.”
The kids are reportedly part of some 450 illegal aliens, including more than a hundred families, that have been housed in a local former correctional facility, which was transformed into a shelter to take in migrants previously sleeping on the floors at Boston Logan International Airport.

School officials say they weren’t given any heads up by the Democrat Governor Maura Healey’s administration that they would be getting an influx of illegal alien kids, most of whom don’t speak any English and aren’t academically up-to-speed for their grade level. The surprise has left districts scrambling to come up with programs and assistance for these kids without diverting time and resources from area children.
So far, local school districts have hired three additional English Language Learning teachers to help deal with the crisis - all at taxpayer expense, of course. The Healey administration also recently announced nearly $2 million for the nearly 20,000 students the state says experience homelessness every year. That money will go toward "family engagement, staff training, English language services, tutoring, school supplies and other needs,” the Boston Herald reports.
Gosh, if only there were a way to keep droves of illegal alien kids from overwhelming school systems and costing millions of taxpayer dollars…
