With only three days to go before Election Day and the polls neck-and-neck between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, the leftist media is pulling out all the stops to give the Harris campaign a much-needed edge - including continuing to lie about Trump. Just a couple days off of excusing President Joe Biden calling some 80 million Trump supporters “garbage” during a get-out-the-vote call, the media have seized on a comment Trump made Thursday night during a one-on-one with Tucker Carlson, in which he criticized Liz Cheney as a “war hawk."

But instead of reporting what Trump actually said with the necessary context, the media are now suggesting that the Republican nominee and former president called for Cheney to be killed via firing squad.

Which, and let’s be abundantly clear here, he didn’t.

Here’s what Trump actually said, full quote: “[Cheney’s] a radical war hawk. Let’s put her with the rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her. OK, let’s see how she feels about it. You know, when the guns are trained on her face. You know they’re all war hawks when they’re sitting in Washington in a nice building saying, oh gee, well let’s send 10,000 troops right into the mouth of the enemy.”

Of course the fact that Trump was clearly suggesting that war-hungry politicians wouldn’t be so quick to send American troops into harm’s way if they had to face it themselves didn’t stop the media from twisting Trump’s comments and pretending he openly called for Cheney to be shot.

Politico ran with the headline: “Trump on Liz Cheney: ‘Let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her.’”

CNN’s Kasie Hunt falsely reported that Trump Donald Trump “suggests Liz Cheney should be fired upon,” calling it “an escalation of his violent rhetoric.”

The Drudge Report ran with the giant, red-lettered headline, “TRUMP CALLS FOR CHENEY’S EXECUTION.” Joe Scarborough ran with that headline and blasted Trump for calling for political violence.

Another day, another hoax.
