This - this right here - is why the American people hate the media.
In an absolutely batcrap insane article that somehow made it past the editors without someone going, “Hm, maybe this isn’t the greatest idea,” Newsweek had the audacity to claim, in a headline, “Donald Trump might not have been shot after all.”
If you’re finding that hard to believe, here’s proof:
Newsweek’s claim hinges on the leftwing theory, which has already been pushed by lib pundits and celebrities ad nauseam, that the bloody injury to Trump’s ear left by a shot fired by a gunman during a rally on July 13 was actually the result of shrapnel from a nearby teleprompter, rather than the actual bullet itself.

Which begs two questions: first of all, neither Newsweek nor any other moron who’s pushed this theory has offered a single shred of hard proof that Trump’s wound wasn’t caused by a bullet other than FBI Director Christopher Wray saying he couldn't say that for sure, making this entire article conjecture, at best.
Secondly, to quote Hillary Clinton, “What difference, at this point, does it make?” A bullet? Shrapnel? The man was shot at by a lunatic on an unsecured roof a football field’s distance away from his cranium. A Trump supporter was hit and killed by a very real bullet fired from a very real gun. Two others were critically injured. Trump could have easily been killed, and was spared by the grace of God and the good fortune of a well-timed turn of the head.
The only reason to publish an unconfirmed, unnecessary theory that perhaps Trump was nearly brained by a deadly shard of glass versus a deadly hunk of metal is to undermine the significance of an assassination attempt on a former president and current presidential nominee, in order to score political points - or, at least, to steal some from the other team.
