Uhhhh...does somebody want to explain to Nancy Pelosi what a "primary" is?

Not that anyone should have to - she's a career politician who's been through more primary seasons than anyone, save perhaps Joe Biden. So maybe it's just dementia.

Either way, the former House Speaker openly claimed in an interview this week that Vice President Kamala Harris was nominated by the Democrat Party to replace Biden as president because the party held an "open primary," and Harris "won."

"You had reportedly said you wanted a sort of an open primary when Joe Biden stepped down. Did you change your mind because you saw all the excitement around Kamala Harris?" Semafor's Kadia Goba asked Pelosi.

"No, I didn't change my mind. We had an open primary and she won it. Nobody else got in the race because she was politically astute and that was the thought," Pelosi responded.

...except that didn't happen.

Harris didn't get a single vote in the Democratic primary - because Joe Biden won it back in June, back before Democrats staged a quiet coup and forcibly booted him off the ticket in mid-July. Harris was then quickly ushered into the vacancy, without having to earn a single primary vote (which, historically, hasn't been her strong suit).

So either Pelosi here is remembering a primary that never happened, which would suggest a pretty serious cognitive failure, or she's just lying. Kinda like she did when she repeatedly assured Americans that Biden's brain was firing on all cylinders and that he wasn't actively turning into a vegetable on live TV.

And she's still expecting gullible Americans to believe her.
