Country music star Jason Aldean didn’t mince words in addressing the latest controversy over his new song, “Try That In a Small Town,” a pro-police anthem that decries fiery riots and anti-American hate and has been deemed by some on the left as a “racist” and “violent.”
But unlike many celebrities, retail chains, and brands, Aldean’s not backing down from the woke mob.
“What I am is a proud American. I’m proud to be from here,” he told fans Friday night during his first concert since his new music video triggered a tidal wave of liberal tears.
“I love our country. I want to see it restored to what it once was before all this bullshit started happening to us,” Aldean went on. “I love my country. I love my family. And I will do anything to protect that – I can tell you that right now.”

In social media videos posted last week during the firestorm, Aldean called accusations of racism over his song, which rapidly climbed to No. 1 on the music charts, “meritless” and “dangerous."

“’Try That In a Small Town,’ for me, refers to the feeling of a community that I had growing up, where we took care of our neighbors, regardless of differences of background or belief,” he said.
Aldean’s wife, Brittany, has also made several posts in support of her husband, writing, “Never apologize for speaking the truth."
