Two days before David Bowie passed away, he released his final album as a “parting gift” to fans.
Producer Tony Visconti, who worked on Bowie’s album “Blackstar,” wrote that Bowie “always did what he wanted to do. And he wanted to do it his way and he wanted to do it the best way. His death was no different from his life.”
The music video for the song “Lazarus” off the album “Blackstar,” released on Jan. 7, foreshadows Bowie’s passing.
The song opens with the line, “Look up here. I’m in heaven.”
Bowie tells listeners, “Oh, I’ll be free.”
