“It’s probably a logical conclusion, if you break into somebody’s house you will -might end up being shot by the homeowner,” Haines City Florida Police Chief Gregory Goreck told the press on Friday.

Goreck was discussing the shooting of 27-year-old Tyriek Tramaine Washington.  Washington was hospitalized with multiple, non-life threatning gunshot wounds.

Fox13 Tampa Bay reports:

According to the Haines City Police Department, the homeowner, who had a concealed weapons permit, came home to find the intruders inside his residence and fired his gun, hitting one of them.

Investigators were still looking for the second suspect over the weekend.

Washington has been charged with burglary in the incident.

Authorities do not expect the homeowner to face any charges.
