China: Enes Kanter Freedom Must Be 'CIA Agent'

Tyrants are insecure individuals who prey on the weak and the vulnerable in order to make themselves feel powerful. But when someone dares challenge them by calling out their heartless actions and exposing them for the cowards they are, tyrants tend to silence their challengers in often ridiculous ways.

Boston Celtics forward Enes Kanter Freedom has gone on a one-man crusade in calling out China for their countless human rights violations, particularly against the Uyghurs. He’s done national interviews, worn sneakers, and used social media to expose China’s continuous maliciousness against in own people and calling out those in the NBA who could not care less about the atrocities happening there.

It appears that China has had enough of being held accountable and is attempting to silence him by any means possible. So with all of China’s media propaganda experts at their disposal, what was the best accusation they could concoct to ridicule the NBA star?

According to the Global Times, Freedom must be a spy operating within the CIA for the United States.

That’s right everyone, Freedom is a covert agent! Except, he’s not.

The only shred of “evidence” the Chinese government has to legitimize this claim is a hashtag Freedom sued in a Tweet, and his affiliation with the Hizmet movement (which has peaceful values) led by Philadelphia-based cleric Fethullah Gülen. The cleric was almost extradited back to Turkey after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused Gülen of organizing an alleged failed coup against him in 2016, but no evidence was found to support the president’s claim.

Despite absolutely no grounds to accuse Freedom on, the Global Times doubled down on their claim by saying Freedom’s calls for justice were nothing more than him seeking for attention:

“His so-called outspoken statements have no substantial difference from what the Western media has used to smear China. Many think Freedom is clout-chasing,” the Times said. “What can one person get in return by hyping ‘politically correct’ issues? Money, prestige, or US citizenship? Freedom may know the answer best.”

These are the words of a cowardly government that is not enjoying being held accountable for being tyrannical, and of someone who is reeling from taking a punch.

Freedom should take everything that China just said about him and have a hearty laugh. He has shown himself to be a one-man wrecking crew against one of the most powerful countries on the planet, and the best they’ve got for a response is a ridiculous theory that he’s only advocating for fair treatment for Chinese citizens is because he’s a propaganda tool for the CIA.

More power to you Freedom. Keep calling out those tyrants.
