Tea Party Patriots Action (TPPA) has filed a complaint against the judge who approved the warrant to raid former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home, seeking the magistrate’s dismissal from the case and removal from the bench.

The complaint, filed with the Judicial Council of the Eleventh Circuit, accuses Florida-based Judge Bruce E. Reinhart of “unethical and prejudicial conduct” and of having a “conflict of interest and a pattern and history of hostility to President Trump.”

“Judge Reinhart acted unethically in approving the warrant to search President Trump’s residence,” Tea Party Patriots Action CEO Jenny Beth Martin says in a statement announcing the complaint, noting that Judge Reinhart is a Democrat who has “publicly denigrated former President Trump in social media posts.”

What’s more, Judge Reinhart once recused himself from a case involving President Trump’s lawsuit against Hillary Clinton, citing a “conflict of interest.” This, the complaint argues, serves as further proof that, if unbiased, the magistrate should’ve also recused himself from the Trump case.

The judge “has a history of ethical issues,” not just regarding Trump, Martin says, calling for Reinhart to be disciplined and removed as a federal magistrate.

“The entire episode involving the search of former President Trump’s home threatens the principle of ‘equal justice under law’ and the confidence of the American people in an unbiased judiciary,” Martin warns in her statement.
