The abortion pill mifepristone was listed for sale on the Kroger and Sam’s Club websites in error, both retailers claimed after news reports exposed their online listings.
As Live Action News explains:
“Days after Live Action News originally broke the news that both Kroger and Sam’s Club were displaying the abortion pill mifepristone (200mg) — also known by its brand name, Mifeprex — for sale on their pharmacy websites, the grocery store giants have issued statements insisting that the drug was displayed for sale on their websites due to ‘errors’ in drug listings by ‘third-party vendors,’ which the pharmacies use to “‘aggregate medication pricing.’
“After Live Action News broke the story on the presence of mifepristone on the Kroger pharmacy’s website, other outlets reported on the news, including The Washington Stand (TWS).”
When TWS followed up with the two companies, the abortion pill listings were blamed on mistakes:
“Just days after grocery giant Kroger told The Washington Stand that the abortion drug mifepristone was listed on their Health Savings Club pharmacy website due to an ‘error’ and removed the listing, wholesale giant Sam’s Club has likewise stated that it too erroneously listed the abortion pill on its pharmacy website due to an error committed by a ‘third-party vendor.’
….
“Since the Biden administration loosened restrictions on the abortion drug in January 2023, Democratic lawmakers and officials have heavily lobbied nationwide pharmacy chains to carry the chemical abortion pill, including Walmart (owner of Sam’s Club), Costco, Safeway, Kroger, HealthMart, Albertsons, and McKesson. As of this writing, however, CVS and Walgreens are the only nationwide chains that widely dispense the drug, with Rite Aid selling it in a limited number of stores.”
“Mifepristone is an anti-progesterone drug that blocks the critical growth hormone from reaching the unborn child, which causes the baby to starve to death,” The Stand explains, adding that use of the abortion drug comes with serious health risks.
