Venezuelan gang members have seized control of apartment buildings in his city because of the Biden Administration’s open borders policies, the mayor of Aurora, Colorado said Thursday.

At least three apartment buildings - all under the same out-of-state ownership - have fallen into the hands of Venezuelan migrants, Mayor Mike Coffman confirmed to Fox News while providing an update on the situation:

“They have, in fact, pushed out property managers through intimidation and then collected the rents,” Coffman said as Fox aired video appearing to show armed migrants roaming an apartment complex.

“We’re a victim of a failed policy at the southern border,” Mayor Coffman said, noting how the Biden Administration has allowed illegal aliens to flood into the country, released them when they’re apprehended, and failed to vet those they allowed to remain in the U.S.

Even worse, the Biden Administration likely helped bring the illegal alien gang members into his city by allowing them to mix in with other migrants, the Aurora mayor said:

“What I believe occurred was that federal agents worked with some of our local nonprofits and put them there.”

“Somebody put them there and somebody funded it, whether it’s federal government or not, we’re trying to find out who,” Coffman said.

“The city of Aurora did everything we could to keep them out of the city, because it’s not our problem. This is a federal problem. This is a problem borne by the federal government,” the mayor said:

“Not our problem, federal problem: border issues. They need to resolve it, not us.

“But, somehow, we got sucked into this and we’re a victim, again, of this policy.”
