The Democrats’ brand isn’t toxic because of bad marketing, Governor Ron DeSantis (R-Florida) explained Monday in an appearance on Fox News Channel’s “Hannity.”

Discussing a prosperity-enabled plan to provide property tax relief in his state, the Republican Florida governor addressed a comment by Democrat California Governor Gavin Newsom suggesting that his party’s brand has become “toxic.”

“That is not because of bad marketing – it’s because the results of their leftism have been toxic,” DeSantis said, citing the “defecation in the streets,” homeless tents and soft-on-crime policies that have are devastating Democrat-run states:

“They become toxic because they destroyed the quality of life for millions of people around the country, in places like California, New York and Illinois with their leftist policies.”

“And so, people voted with their feet,” Newsom said, noting how people, like Host Sean Hannity, have been moving out of blue states and into states like Florida.

“It’s one of main reasons I had to get out of New York,” Hannity said.
