Even in 2014, liberal media were siding with Palestine as it tried to wipe out Israel – but when they did, Joan Rivers, a pioneer in female comedy, ripped into them.
In an interview posted by TMZ on YouTube July 25, 2014, a reporter told the iconic female comedian and talk show host that TMZ was “trying to get celebrity reaction to what’s going on with the Palestinians and Israelis right now.”
He then outraged Rivers by presenting her with one-sided questions designed to elicit sympathy for Palestine.
“Let me just tell you: if New Jersey were firing rockets into New York, we would wipe ‘em out,” Rivers said.
“If we heard they were digging tunnels from New Jersey to New York, we would get rid of Jersey,” Rivers added, extending the metaphor.
Rivers then mocked those claiming that Israel should make only a partial response when attacked by Palestinians.
“What about the civilian casualty rates?” the reporter asked.
“Then, don’t put your god---n things in private homes! I’m sorry, don’t you dare put weapons stashes in private homes!” Rivers shot back.
“You’re all insane!” Rivers blasted the liberal media, when asked where the Palestinian civilians were supposed to go:
“You’re all insane! They started it! What are you all saying? They started it!”
“I know, because I’ve been over there and I wish the world would know,” Rivers said, calling out CNN and the BBC in particular, for promoting anti-Israel propaganda:
“And, BBC should be ashamed of themselves and CNN should be ashamed of themselves and everybody stop it, already!”
The TMZ reporter then invoked a pro-Palestinian tweet by pop singer Selena Gomez, who was 21 at the time – but, Rivers quickly cut him off:
“Oh, Selena Gomez, oh – yeah, that college grad!” Rivers said, mocking the young singer’s ability to intelligently weigh in on the subject. “Oh, Selena said that!”
“Let’s see if she can spell ‘Palestinian.’” Rivers chided, before turning and walking away.
