The same judge who ruled to prevent President Donald Trump from deporting 200 Venezuelan gang members also denied the DOJ’s request to sentence former FBI Lawyer Kevin Clinesmith to jail – even though Clinesmith pled guilty to forging an email used to justify spying on the 2016 Trump campaign.
In the wake of the infamous Russiagate hoax investigations, Judge Boasberg ruled that Clinesmith had forged evidence in order to save himself time, not because he had anything against Trump, and thus did not deserve jail time, The New York Post reported Tuesday:
“US District Judge James Boasberg gave former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith probation instead of jail time four years ago when the latter pleaded guilty to forging an email used to gain a warrant to surveil 2016 Trump campaign official Carter Page.”
“Appearing sympathetic to the cost the lawyer had paid by ‘standing in the eye of a media hurricane,’ he instead ordered him to work 400 hours of community service and 12 months probation,” The Telegraph noted.
On Saturday, Judge Boasberg ruled to block the Trump Administration from deporting the gang members, “knowing his daughter was in the business of defending violent criminal illegal aliens at work” an apparent conflict of interest that would have required his recusal from the case, according to an article by The Gateway Pundit reporting that a Texas congressman has filed articles of impeachment against Boasberg:
“Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX) filed articles of impeachment against radical Obama Judge James Boasberg after he ordered the President of the United States to fly violent criminal illegal aliens and gang members into the United States.”
“I just introduced Articles of Impeachment against radical activist Judge James Boasberg. He is guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors and should be removed from office,” Rep. Gill wrote Tuesday in a social media post announcing his impeachment initiative.
