Video clips of Karoline Leavitt correcting hostile reporters in her first media event as White House press secretary Tuesday are flooding social media.

Elon Musk, who heads the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), posted video of a reporter challenging Leavitt about President Donald Trump’s government spending pause.

When the reporter suggested that crucial spending was being halted, Leavitt noted that, during the pause, DOGE and OMB discovered “a preposterous waste of taxpayer money”:

“DOGE and OMB also found that there was about to be $50 million taxpayer dollars that went out the door to fund condoms in Gaza.”

In one video clip, Leavitt provides examples of the types of illegal aliens the Trump Administration has been deporting.

When a reporter tried to blame the week-old Trump Administration for the high cost of eggs, Leavitt hit back with facts.

Likewise, when a reporter challenged the administration’s response to the L.A. fires, Press Sec. Leavitt contrasted Trump’s response to that of local officials:

“The local officials there clearly lack all common sense. And I will never forget being at that roundtable with the president last week and hearing the frustration in the voices of Pacific Palisades residents who feel as though their government has gone insane.

“Before President Trump showed up on the scene, (L.A. Mayor) Karen Bass was telling private property owners that they would have to wait 18 months to access their private property,” Leavitt explained. The Trump Administration “will continue to put pressure on Karen Bass and state and local officials to allow residents to access their private property.”

“It’s the United States of America: what happened to our freedom clearly is gone in California, but not anymore under President Trump,” the press secretary vowed.

Press Sec. Leavitt had warned reporters at the event that, if they continued to lie and spread misinformation about Trump, she would call them out.
