Derling Gustavo Hernandez is back in a Northern Virginia jail and charged with multiple crimes mere hours after being released from detention, the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) reported Wednesday.
On Tuesday, according to the FCPD report, the 28 year-old Hernandez:
- Was released from detention at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center,
- Stole a vehicle from the Fairfax County Courthouse,
- Broke into a home in nearby Burke, Virginia,
- Was chased off by the victim, who had armed herself with a weapon,
- Was quickly arrested after the victim called the police,
- Was returned to jail, and
- Is being held without bond.
Somewhere along the way, Hernandez stole a credit card and became intoxicated, FCPD reports. As a result of his alleged escapades and arrest on Tuesday, Hernandez is charged with:
- Burglary.
- Grand Larceny-Auto Theft.
- Destruction of Property.
- Credit Card Theft.
- Drunk in Public.
No information about Hernandez’s immigration status has been reported, as of publication time.
