Video of a Catholic priest’s passionate, fire-and-brimstone warning about “our politically-correct world” has gone viral - and not just among Catholics.

On December 19, Theologian-In-Residence, Redeemer Presbyterian Church, Anthony B. Bradley, PhD asked for reaction to a video clip of a Catholic priest he posted on X.com (formerly, Twitter):

“This is Fr. Mark Goring, a Catholic priest. Ask your Protestant friends to critique what he says here. Thoughts?”

His video post quickly went viral, being widely shared on the social media platform. In particular, it has been viewed more than a million times to-date on his page, as has a re-post of the video by political commentator Benny Johnson.

Reaction to Fr. Goring’s blunt, impassioned remarks in the video has been overwhelmingly and enthusiastically positive, among Protestants and Catholics alike.

“If you didn’t know he was a Catholic priest, you could mistake him for an Evangelical revivalist,” Southern Baptist Pastor Howell Scott replied, for example:

“I’m a conservative Southern Baptist Pastor and I have preached something similar. If you didn’t know he was a Catholic priest, you could mistake him for an Evangelical revivalist. And, he is right based on Scripture.”

“Save yourself from this corrupt generation!’ Fr. Goring cries out from the pulpit, warning in the video that “In our politically-correct world, we think everyone’s going to Heaven” – but, they’re not.

“Why do we no longer preach repentance?!” Fr. Goring asks.

“You wonder why our young people don’t go to church - who is rising up to warn them?!” Fr. Goring explains, blasting the indifference of today’s adults for the lack of church attendance by the younger generation.

A full transcript of Fr. Goring’s comments is presented below:

“Do you think this unbelieving generation who bought into the atheism and the agnosticism and the ways of the world, do you think they’re on their way to Heaven?

“I don’t think they are – and I’m not afraid to say it.

“In our politically-correct world, we think everyone’s going to Heaven, do whatever you want, try to be a nice person, everyone’s going to Heaven – where does it say that in the Bible?”

What great saints of the Church proclaimed that, ‘Oh, everyone’s going to Heaven, you don’t need to strive to be holy’? That’s never been said in the last two thousand years – so why does everyone believe this today?

“Why do we no longer preach repentance? Believe the Good News: that God so loved the world that he gave his only Son so that you can have eternal life. Why do we not preach this anymore?

“You wonder why our young people don’t go to church - who is rising up to warn them?

“Save yourself from this corrupt generation!’

“And so, we need to pray that the Lord raise up his prophets and his saints in our time, to proclaim the Good News to everyone, so that people can be saved.”
