New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez gleefully celebrated primetime host Tucker Carlson’s unexpected exit from Fox News this week, blaming him for the slew of “death threats” she says she’s received over the years.

“Tucker Carlson is out at Fox News…and it couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy,” AOC joked in a video posted to social media late Monday.

“While I’m very glad that the person who is arguably responsible for…driving some of the most amounts of death threats…not just to my office but to plenty of people across the country, I also kinda feel like I’m waiting for the cut scene at the end of a Marvel movie,” AOC said, adding that she’s waiting for “the villian’s hand” to “remerge.”

But de-platforming works, and it is important. Good things can happen,” she said.

Fox News announced it was "parting ways" with Tucker in a press release Monday, playing close-to-the-chest with the details surrounding the popular host's departure.

"We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor," Fox News said in their statement. "Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday April 21st. 'Fox News Tonight' will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named."

It's not yet known whether Tucker was let go from the company, or if he left of his own accord to pursue other opportunities.
