When a series of conveniently timed photographs were released last September, which could incorrectly be interpreted as showing Border Patrol agents whipping illegal Haitian migrants as they streamed across the U.S./Mexico border, there was a groundswell of leftist outrage.
As a result, Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas’ Department of Homeland Security (DHS) needed to take a scalp, regardless of whether the facts of the matter were consistent with the narrative.
The DHS investigation of the situation wrapped up this past Saturday, and to the surprise of no one paying attention, the DHS concluded that there was “no evidence” that the agents “involved in this incident struck, intentionally or otherwise, any migrant with their reins.”
Still, as President Joe Biden vowed in a press conference last September, these agents would have to “pay.”
In lieu of any evidence of “whipping,” the DHS reprimanded the agents involved on laughable pretenses.
Their offenses?
Swirling the reins of their horses in a manner that could be interpreted as “intimidating,” saying mean things to the illegal migrants, and (get this) attempting to actually block the migrants from entering the country.

Our bureaucracy is truly a joke.
Mayorkas said in a statement about the investigation:
The misconduct of several individuals does not reflect the brave and distinguished service of the agents of the United States Border Patrol. The organizational failures of policy, procedures, and training that the investigation identified were a disservice to the agents and the public they serve. CBP must and will do better.
The agents involved were punished with two weeks without pay, but we all know who won’t face any consequences – the politicians and media figures who parroted the race-baiting, “whipping” narrative.
MSNBC’s Joy Reid, who shamelessly invoked images of runaway slaves, the New York Times’ Michael Shear, who falsely reported that the agents struck the Haitian migrants, and of course, Biden, who irresponsibly vowed revenge against the agents before any investigation had taken place, will get off scot-free.
The woke version of “justice” is backwards in every way imaginable.
