DHS Uses Your Taxes To Kick Off What Looks Like a Federal Digital ID System

Imagine living in a neighborhood run by the mob. Imagine that the illegitimate “rulers” already have claimed the power to search you at certain locations where you might want to do business, that they spy on you, and they make YOU pay for it, claiming it’s “for your protection.”

Now, imagine that same mafia telling you that they are going to replace all your door locks with locks of their choosing – for your protection, of course.

That’s essentially what the Department of Homeland Security - via some of its lesser-known, tax-funded vassals - recently hinted is in its plans for all of us, if we don’t stop them ASAP.

On June 22, the Teutonic, Constitution-insulting Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced through its multi-million-dollar-consuming “Science and Technology Directorate” (“S&T”, and they really do use the term “Directorate) that the S&T was “soliciting” tech firms to “create, improve and implement a new set of tools that protect the privacy of individuals when using digital credentials.

Claims the tax-funded press release:

“The solicitation, called the Privacy Preserving Digital Credential Wallets & Verifiers topic call, is administered by S&T’s Silicon Valley Innovation Program (SVIP) and seeks cutting-edge solutions that can support a privacy-preserving digital credentialing ecosystem for DHS components and offices such as U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the DHS Privacy Office (PRIV).”

Lovely. Remember the days when locking up your valuable possessions and private info was something you could do yourself? Those were good times, weren’t they?

Not now. Now, the mob can take your money, and appears to want to use part of it to fund its own “lock and key” system to “store” what doesn’t belong to them.

But why be nostalgic? Why not look forward to the great future, as planned by the DHS mob? After all, even as they force us to pay their salaries and they already attack our rights, even as they defy the U.S. Constitution on a daily basis, they also use our tax cash to tell us it’s for our own good.

Let the platitudes commence:

“’Preserving the privacy of individuals as they use digital wallets to store their credentials is deeply important in ensuring the secure, confidential nature of their digital interactions in an increasingly interconnected world,’ said Melissa Oh, SVIP managing director.”

And what better way to take care of something we can do ourselves, than to force us to pay for “research” that the DHS literally admits is directed toward creation of a “digital wallet” they will run?

Oh, but we must be misreading the press release. Sure, it’s an unconstitutional shift of our tax cash onto an agency that shouldn’t exist, and they, in turn, are going to hand it out to private tech firms to work on “security” for digital interactions, but this in no way can lead one to conclude that the goal is to create a federal digital ID on which they will run their mandated Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), check our "vaccine status," penalize us for traveling too far in a gas-powered car, shut down our ability to post on social media, and more…

Well, the release also explicitly tells us the plan. Applicants for the DHS money MUST focus on at least one of these goals:

  1. Digital Wallet: DHS is seeking digital wallets that are useful across contexts and jurisdictions, can support the broad range of credentials possible with World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Verifiable Credential Data Model (VCDM) and W3C Decentralized Identifiers (DID) standards that include verified support for DHS issued credentials, and are portable, highly secure, privacy-preserving, standards-based, interoperable, and multi-functional.
  2. Mobile Verifier: DHS is seeking software-based verifier implementations that can be deployed on mobile devices, including on iOS and Android based devices, that can support the broad range of credentials possible with W3C VCDM/DID standards to include verified support for DHS issued credentials.

So, you be the judge.

But, guess what? Even if you want to be the judge, you can’t stop them. And if you protest, the mafia will claim that YOU are the threat, the undesirable, the non-conformist, the person who puts everyone else at risk because you want to maintain your God-given rights and you can handle your own privacy and security yourself. How DARE you stand in the way of progress?!

Now, get out of the way and let the mob get at your front door. It’s for your safety, after all. And you needn’t worry about them getting in when they want, or locking you out, or locking you IN, anytime they like.

Oh, one more thing, these privacy-invaders call themselves, “The Privacy Office.”

Surely, Orwell would be impressed.
