Donald Trump Gets Endorsement from Famous Dutch Political Leader, Critic of Islam

GOP presidential primary candidate Donald Trump received the endorsement of notable Dutch politician Geert Wilders yesterday.

Wilders is the leader of the right-wing Party for Freedom in the Netherlands, and made the endorsement in a tweet sent out this past Monday evening.

"I hope @realDonaldTrump will be the next US President. Good for America, good for Europe. We need brave leaders," tweeted Wilders.

Wilders is known throughout the Netherlands and Europe for his strong stances on immigration, multiculturalism, and radical Islam.

The endorsement comes on the heels of Trump's statement on Monday calling for a "shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country's representatives can figure out what is going on."

Wilders retweeted Trump's official statement onto his Twitter timeline shortly after tweeting his initial statement.

This appears to be Trump's first endorsement from an international elected official.
