‘That’s Taxachusetts’: Coach Belichick’s Playbook On How High Taxes Drive Away High Performers

Perhaps tax-drunk leftists should listen to legendary Super Bowl-winning coach Bill Belichick.

While the media ignores Kamala Harris touting her plans to raise taxes on businesses and homeowners, Belichick realizes that high taxes often drive good business away.

During a recent appearance on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ Belichick commented on how NFL players who join the New England Patriots are hit with a "millionaire's tax" that can significantly impact player negotiations.

Belichick says that sometimes it’s not worth it to a player to join a team in a high-tax state.

“It's Taxachusetts. Yeah. They take more from you. So virtually every player even the practice squad. Well, even the minimum players are pretty close to $1 million, so once you hit that million dollar threshold then you pay more state tax in Massachusetts. So just another thing you got to contend with in the negotiations up there."

"It's not like Tennessee or, you know, Florida or Nevada or some of these teams that have no state income tax. So, you get you get hit pretty hard on that. You know, with the agents they'll come and sledgehammer you down about the tax they're paying. We don't get any benefit from that,” Belichick said.

A simple scheme, high taxes force good performers and businesses to set up elsewhere. It should probably be in the playbook of certain political parties.
