During a visit to Valdosta, Ga., on Monday, Donald Trump said he had spoke with Elon Musk about providing Starlink internet service for states ravaged by Hurricane Helene.

"I just spoke to Elon. I'm getting him. We want to get Starlink hooked up because they have no communication whatsoever. And Elon will always come through. We know that. And so we're working on that, getting them hooked up. They asked me whether or not that would be possible. We're going to try and get the Starlink in there as soon as possible because they have no communication."

Trump later continued, “You’re in our prayers and we pray to God throughout this long week and the long weeks that lie ahead, you’re going to have a lot of work. But the end result is that it's going to be good.”

During the Georgia event Trump was flanked by Rev. Franklin Graham, who is leading a disaster relief effort in the region.

The Federal Emergency Management (FEMA) published a fact sheet on Monday. It indicates that 40 Starlink satellite systems are available to help first responders with communications, and more satellites were being shipped.

Elon Musk's X page has been silent about any current assistance being offered by his Starlink service. As of Monday evening, the only related post was a link about the FCC denying Starlink a government subsidy to provide broadband service to rural parts of the U.S.
