CNN’s Dana Bash seemed rather flustered after her network was criticized by President Donald Trump during live programming.
The incident occured during a meeting at the White House with El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele on Monday. When Bukele asked why the American media isn’t covering the U.S. Border Patrol numbers, showing the amount of illegal immigrants arrested at the nation’s borders has decreased 91 percent since Trump took office.
“Well, they get out, but the fake news, you know, like CNN, CNN over here doesn't want to put them out because they don't like - they don't like putting out good numbers,” Trump said. “They only like putting out - I think they hate our country, actually. But it's a shame. You're right. Isn't that a great question? Why doesn't the media, why don't they put out numbers?”
It’s fair to say those comments got under the skin of Bash, who after more press questions, interrupted the White House live feed, to deliver some “news nuggets” from the anchor desk.

“We have been listening to a lengthy live press conference inside the Oval Office with the leader of El Salvador, Bukele, where we have heard a lot of, uh, bits of information, a lot of, uh, news nuggets that we want to definitely focus on a lot of, um, some misinformation as well,” Bash said.
“I just want to say, for the record, since we heard President Trump say in the Oval Office that CNN hates our country. CNN does not hate our country. That should go without saying,” Bash later added.
“I've been here for 32 years, and I see a rhetorical device in him, uh, trying to say such a thing. That said, I want to focus on the news that we heard, and that news came out in several ways on several fronts.”
From there on out, Bash moved on to her panel cooking up “news nuggets” dipped in a thick sauce of leftist bias.
