The D.C. weirdness only got weirder during the four-day confirmation hearing for Trump SCOTUS pick Amy Coney Barrett, who calmly endured Democrats' barrage of questions over her faith, her pro-life views and her alleged bias - but rarely, her impeccable judicial record.

Here are just five of the craziest moments from this week's hearings.

1. When ACB completely owned California Sen. Diane Feinstein.

Feinstein, who once declared that the “dogma lives loudly within” Barrett, was stopped in her tracks by ACB’s response to the question over whether President Trump can legally delay an election. And the result was beautiful.

2. When Rhode Island Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse went on a 30-minute tirade complete with flowcharts about right-wing conspiracy theories.

During his entire 30 allotted minutes, Whitehouse declined to ask the nominee a single question, instead dedicating his time to outlining conspiracy theories about Republicans and “dark money.” And he brought charts and graphs to do it.

2. When Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar weirdly admitted that she wished she were a queen so she could rule the Senate.

In a moment that rang perhaps just a little too truthful for comfort, Klobushar, who recently lost her bid for the Democratic nomination for president, declared, “I actually wouldn’t mind being a queen around here, truth be know…kind of a benevolent queen and making decisions so we could get things done.”

#Awkward.

3. When Hawaii Sen. Mazie Hirono randomly declared that “sexual preference is suddenly an “offensive” term that implies being gay is a choice – simply because Amy Coney Barrett has used it.

Except that’s not a thing. In fact, not only is “sexual preference” a common term, it’s often been used by Democrats including presidential candidate Joe Biden and the late SCOTUS Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

5. When Texas Sen. John Cornyn asked Amy Coney Barrett to hold up the notes she was using. And it turned out she wasn’t using any. She’s that good.
