Flashback: Friedman Destroys Socialist Agenda

Nobel Prize winning American economist Milton Friedman knew socialism and he also knew that capitalism is the better philosophy.

In a 1979 interview with liberal television talk show host Phil Donahue, Friedman stated, "The record of history is absolutely crystal clear. There is no alternative way, so far discovered, of improving the lot of the ordinary people that can hold a candle to the productive activities that are unleashed by a free enterprise system."

Donahue kept pressing Friedman on the alleged ills of capitalism and free trade. Donahue referenced the amount of poverty and the disparity between the "haves" and "have-nots." At every turn, Friedman had a clear and concise answer to Donahue's scathing review of the "capitalist agenda."
