Hillary Cinton’s former spokesperson, Jennifer Palmieri – you know, the lady who was caught mocking Catholics and helping Hillary cheat in debates against Bernie Sanders – is now claiming that while reporters admittedly lean to the left-of-center, it’s the Democrats who are the real victims of liberal media bias.
Got that?
Speaking at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, Palmieri admitted she believes “"most journalists are probably leaning more to the left than the right." Following that, here’s the claim the former Clintonite somehow managed to get past her brain and through her lips:
Think about the kind of person that's drawn to do this as a career. They believe in government, they think politics matters, they like it, they find it interesting, they don't make a lot of money. ... What I've found is it means they come after us harder on what I describe as the crap. They come after us harder on the palace intrigue, on the process, on things that really shouldn't matter," she said.
It gets worse. From a Fox News Insider report:
At a Q-and-A alongside former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer, she recalled many reporters during the 2000 campaign raised the issue of high gas prices.
She recalled arguing that the same questions would not be asked of George W. Bush and that reporters seemed to apply a different standard to the Democrat.
"They were like, 'Well, no, because he’s a Republican, he doesn’t think that he should weigh in and fix gas prices, but you’re Democrats, you’re supposed to solve problems,'” said Palmieri, who also served as Barack Obama's White House communications director from 2013 to 2015.
In a small way, Palmieri is right – the media sure as heck didn’t focus on the important issues surrounding Hillary Clinton during the presidential campaign, like how she jeopardized classified information, deleted government emails and lied about it, all while accepting heaps of money from oppressive Middle Eastern regimes.
However, I don’t recall her getting blasted from the likes of MSNBC on many “crap” issues, either.
Still, Palmieri's bunk theory goes something like this: Reporters are openly liberal, which raises the media standard for liberal politicians, and therefore causes them to suffer undue amounts of media bias from they very people who love nothing more than to sing their praises.
Excuse me while I retrieve the world’s smallest violin.
